Group E looks tough with Jubilo. And that chinese club shenzhen isn't that bad either.
If Suwon wins the K-League though, my money would be on Suwon to top the group. But Jubilo is tough...really tough
Group G looks like a pancake though. Just put Gwangju or Bucheon there and they will advance ;D

The current Jubilo team are rank. Suwon should trounce them unless they improve significantly between now and whenever they play.

This is the match schedule for Suwon next year:
09/03/05: Hoang Anh Gia Lai (A) 16/03/05: Shenzhen Jianlibo (H) 06/04/05: Jubilo Iwata (A) 20/04/05: Jublio Iwata (H) 11/05/05: Hoang Anh Gia Lai (H) 25/05/05: Shenzhen Jianlibo (A)
If they make it through, then these are the other dates:
Quarter-finals: 14/09/05 and 21/09/05 Semi-finals: 28/09/05 and 12/10/05 Final: 26/10/05 and 02/11/05
I guess the schedule will be pretty much the same for whoever wins the FA Cup.

...sorry, but can someone please explain these two statements further...
"Either Pohang or Suwon are going to have a bloody hard time in their group, with Jubilo Iwata and Shenzhen to compete with. The FA Cup winners appear to have the easier group... "
and
"I guess the schedule will be pretty much the same for whoever wins the FA Cup"
i dont get it as last season the Steelers lost the K-League final - so therfore wont be playing in the Asian Champions league???
...and as Busan already won the FA Cup - arent they the team that have already qualified?

hmmm - sorry, ive actually taken the time to properly read all the (dated) posts now...my mistake - just had my hopes up and suddenly thought that somehow Pohang had obtained a place in the Champions League...however, not so - shame, as i wouldve loved to have gone on a tour of asia watching them play some games (if its weekend matches)...now ive worked it out tho, im not so interested in following Suwon or Busan...

Yeah sorry, wanted to cut down on the number of new threads with my name on it ( ) so I dragged up a pretty old thread... Anyway, today's results: Hoang Anh Gia Lai 1-5 Suwon Busan 8-0 Binh Dinh Nadson, Mato Neretljak, Park Kon-ha and Ahn Hyo-yun (2) scored for Suwon. Dunno who scored for Busan though, but that's a pretty good evening for the Korean sides. Shenzhen Jianlibao beat Jubilo Iwata 1-0 earlier, and Suwon face Shenzhen at the Big Bird on the 16th. A win in that game would have Suwon sitting pretty comfortably at the top of the table

As far as I can tell, Busan's goals were scored by Luciano, Felix, Bae Hyo-sung, Luciano, Popo, Felix, Kim Yoo-jin and an own goal (in that order).

Looks like Suwon and Busan were the big winners, who knows what the opposition was like though.

Suwon 0-0 Shenzhen Jianlibao Krung Thai Bank 0-2 Busan I'Park
Group E Suwon 4 Shenzhen 4 Jubilo 3 Hoang Ahn 0
Group G Busan 6 Krung Thai 3 Persebaya 1 Binh Dinh 1
Good win for Busan, puts them top of their group with 6 points and a +10 goal difference. Poor result for Suwon at home, especially as Shenzhen had a bloke sent off after 60 minutes (though the commentators reckoned he'd been substituted and it took them a while to realise there were only 10 guys on the pitch). Sandro came on as a sub for his first game since returning to Suwon but didn't do much - at the end of the game they had Nadson, Sandro, Ahn Hyo-yun and Kim Dong-hyun all upfront but they just couldn't bloody score. I don't know why Cha lets Kim Jin-woo crack efforts in from 25 yards all the time - the bloke has scored exactly two goals in over 260 games for Suwon because he can't hit the bloody target!
Suwon away to Jublio Iwata next with Busan home against the Indonesians... Suwon really could have done with winning tonight. Ooops.

Shenzhen is really Lucky in this match, Suwon Prove they are the best club in Asia again, good Luck against Japanese blokes, and be careful Jubilo is another Dirty team!
BTW is this Sandro the one who had been played for Al Ain in 2003 season and scored against Dalian Shide thice?
and the former Suwon player Urumov is now in China and Probably will Join Tianjin Teda he is now training with the team in Shanghai
