Daum are reporting that 25 year-old forward Lucio Alejo Filomeno, ex Inter Milan and Udinese, has signed a one year contract with Busan I'cons. As far as I can tell his career path is: 1997-98: Nueva Chicago (Argentina) 1998: Udinese (Italy) 1998-99: Inter Milan (Italy) 1999-02: San Lorenzo (Argentina) 2002-05: Jaguares (Mexico)

So much for not signing Westerners with egos. Sure, he's from a country with a crap economy right now, but he's played for Inter Milan, and seems a bit of a journeyman...

he's thew guy I told you about last month, the semi big name Argentinian player. We've been in preseason training since the 26th. He brings some real quality football to the team, and an incredible ammount of international experience, at only 25. His ego is not as bad as the older foreign players that have come here before; He's a real calm and level headed fellow, so I'm hoping that there won't be any of the problems we had with the brits and the portuguese... Today he had his first truly Korean meal... I took him and his wife out for Bibimbap, kimchi, and the usual side dishes. Not bad, considering it took me about two months to convience Gaucho to try it. Here's some images of him from his last club, Jaguares barralafusion.com/collage%20lucio.jpg

Colombian, I've just read on the Grandbleu and Soccerworld boards that Kwon Jip will be joining Chunnam this season and not Busan.
What's the story with this - a loan deal? Sold on before playing a game? Turned down a contract offer? Or just more netizen nonsense?

I'm surprised at the number of experienced foreigners showing interest and even joining the K-league.

I can't really comment on things till they're officially said by the team, but I can tell you that at the end of the FA cup the coaching staff was quite happy with the personell at that time. The current need is to find some quality foreign players.

correction: a 24-year old...he will turn 25 in early may. and colombian: he was an "icon" for Jaguares' fans in Mexico not only because of his features in the pitch but also because of his kindness and his being always available for reporters and fans alike (i got this info from the Mexican fans). That means he is a guy with no ego in that sense.

Can you find anything about a guy named Chris Marsden too? I'll tell lucio that already has his first fan in Korea... you ;D by the way, everyone here regards player's ages according to the korean way, that's why it's reported as 25

Well...according to past I'cons failures in hiring "great foreign players" i think this irony of yours was more of a fact than not.

If I'm right in thinking, Filomeno would have been at Jaguares at the same time as Brazilian Sebastiao Pereira Do Nascimento, who played for Busan back in 2002?

Lucio knows him pretty well, and didi just laughed when he heard Lucio was coming. Good fellow, scored some nice goals back when him Harry, Manichi, and Zoran were together. Didi left Jaguares a few month ago due to some 'unspecified family problems'... same reason he chose to leave Busan. nagging wife ;D
