Just wondering then since it "isn't visible". Do a lot of players who are ditched by one team go and train with another team before being offered a contract? I think the comment about not much player movement (which wasn't made by me) within the league was centered around the fact that MOST players come and then leave the league completely or else are currently still at their original club. I don't know what the ratio is or anything. It might be an 'interesting' wee piece of research for HJ ;D. Though it's hard to do as so often teams sign foriegners and don't really use them all that much and then they slip away. I remember seeing a photo of the entire Anyang squad from the start of 2003 and from memory their were about 8 foreigners in the picture. Since they were only allowed 5 (and now 4) I guess a lot were just trialing. Also if a club was cashed up enough they could have several foreigners at the club with 4 playing and on the books and a few basically waiting in the wings incase any of those guys aren't wanted anymore. It was me who made the comment and I was talking solely about Korean players...not foreigners. Maybe stuff isn't visible but I can't think of too many Koreans moving between clubs....maybe I'm just not watching closely. I quickly scanned that list and there couldn't be more than about 20 club to club transfers ...excluding university to club moves, foreigner moves, moves abroad, and also the moves to Incheon which I think paint a false picture since they were a brand new team. Hardly a thriving market in a league with 13 teams. For the record what are the biggest K-league moves from one club to another involving Koreans?? Kim Dae Eui cost Suwon a few bob ... who else?

That list is actually incomplete; I remember it was made before the transfer window closed at the start of the season. Generally each club has 2 or 3 'big' transfers (in k-league terms) per season, but it's people you probably never hear about. If you exclude Chelsea, that's probably the average of interleague transfers in the premiership also. Furthermore, there is a host of jorneymen who go from team to team constantly here.
You also must take into account Gwangju, and how that influences the trade market. I'cons lost 5 players to them this season; Each year every team looses from 2 to 5 players to them, and it's for almost 3 years. Quite often those players do not return to their original team, since their contracts either expire, or get sold.

I remembered this article that explains the transfer system in Korea... it suggests a small number if team-to-team switches each season...

The last paragraph there ---15 a season --- seems more in line with what I expected than Colombians estimated 2-3 a team.
And even then...these aren't the star guys. For example Suwon pick up some 34 year old guy i never heard of from Seongnam.
All the big names seem to disappear to japan (before coming back 12 months later)

Out of those 5 or so 'big name players' two of them stayed at their club (Kim Dong-jin and Choi Won-kwon). I really don't follow the names all that closely of the lesser folk as I'm a glory hunter and a hopeful groupie who only cares about the super stars. I'm hoping to get my photo taken with somebody really good at the Seongnam - Busan game. Oh that's right both teams suck

we'll get there sometime between 2:30-3:00.
Probably hovering somewhere around the away edge of the side of the pitch.
they'll be 5 of us I think plus you two yobs.
Just make sure they don't beat us up just cos you've hooliganised the game!
Just remember though, wait till the rubbish bins are full before you throw them onto the pitch.

Back on topic slightly, Jamie Cureton was a sub as QPR beat Plymouth 3-2 (give Bobby Williamson his jotters ) Hjelde played the full 90 minutes as Forest drew with Cardiff 0-0... they're still looking for their first league win this season. Chris Marsden played against Walsall as Wednesday drew 1-1. And everyone's favourite Brazilian striker Gaucho's new team play their second match of the season on Monday night against Belenenses... ooh the excitement.

Gaucho will be feeling right at home with his new club... They stormed into a 3-0 lead just after half-time (he even set up one of the goals!), and then proceeded to throw it away and had to settle for a point. Oooops

Gaucho in a training game. He's totally pissed at the KFA... he missed the first two leage games becuase they failed to send his international transfer on time. funny, That same thing happened to Tommy, Didi, and several other players. Apparently KFA has a lousy reputation for not doing paperwork on time.

Hat-trick for Jamie Cureton last night as QPR beat Coventry 4-1. Which hat-trick was more impressive last night - his or Rooney's?

So the K-League must be of a much higher standard than the coca cola championship or whatever the hell it's called then?
Also after Suwon beat Barcelona and then Barcelona beat Celtic then the K-League must also be A LOT better than the Scottish premier league?
;D
