Apparently the Den Haag v PSV Eindhoven game on Saturday was abandoned after 81 minutes because of chants from the Den Haag fans aimed at referee Rene Timmink after he gave a few decisions against them. There were a few violent anti-Ajax songs too.
The KNVB supposedly passed a ruling less than a month ago giving referees the power to stop games if the fan chanting became too outrageous, and it seems it's been put into force already.
Time for one such ruling in Scotland... there would hardly be enough time for Celtic to score their customary early opener in the Old Firm games before it was abandoned!
If you applied it to the K-League then it would have to be with respect to the managers/coaching staff shouting abuse rather than the fans...

If they put this into effect in England the toon supporters would have to stop singing that very offensive song when we play Boro.

magic stuff!!!!
good to see footy has finally lost every connection with the common fan and has finally become corporate, politically correct nonsense.

I reckon they should only allow women in their 60s into the ground as well.
And only then if they are carrying knitting with them.

Imagine 64,000 ajumas storming the pitch at Sangam looking for the ref after a late 1-0 loss.
God help anybody within 5 miles.

Call me corporate and out of touch, But I fully support the dutch league's descision. One of the most magical things about football is how it can inspire and influce young children. All over the world parents have been taking their kids to soccer games, where they can see in person the magic of their idols in real life. I thinks its a disgrace that a few handfuls of drunken jerks have to ruin the beautiful game experience for the thousands of fans who are just looking for an afternoon out with the family admiring football. I believe in free expression, but as was once said, a mans rights end where another man's rights begin. There's nothing wrong with light to moderate expressins of emotion, of course, it's part of the game. But when it becomes extreme personal insults using extremely graphic language, well, it's just not right.
