It looks like PSV Eindhoven have been invited back to Korea for a summer tournament, most probably the Peace Cup, next summer.

Any word on who else has been or is going to be invited? I caught one game down here in Ulsan in the summer of 2003. I don't remember the names of the two teams, but it was a good match.

To be honest I'm not sure who else will come over. If I remember correctly, PSV, Kaiser Chiefs, LA Galaxy, Besiktas, Lyon, 1860 Munich and Nacional and were the other teams that took part in the 2003 Peace Cup. The SARS outbreak screwed up the original plans to have Bayer Leverkusen, Roma and Sao Paulo involved I think.

That sounds right. Like I said I don't remeber the team names. I am pretty sure the one team was from Turkey. I don't remember where the other squad was from. It was a rainy crappy night down here, and I think the only reason we all went was because we had free tickets and we didn't have to teach that night on account of some holiday. Still it was fun all the same. I hope I'm still in town for the next one.

Just read an article about this - it will take place from July 14~25 next summer.
PSV Eindhoven as defending champions and Olympic Lyon as runners-up have been invited back to the tournament. Also invited (I think) are Real Sociedad, Tottenham Hotspur, Boca Juniors, Thunders (an African side) and Santos (Brazil) as well as Seongnam.
More info to follow I'm sure.

IF those teams came then it'd be a pretty decent mob. Well except for Spurs that is

Well the reason they get the spot is because reverend Moon is behind the peace cup and he owns Seongnam.
It's as simple as that basically. But it's stupid on his part. Letting Seongnam play in it does nothing to get people interested in their games and they don't sell any merchandise.
All ego crap.

Ah, I didn't know that. It's nice that he organizes the tournament and tries to get games played in cities around the country and all. But I have to say I'm in no hurry to see a K-League team that finished 6th go after it with some of these teams. Would it kill him to let another K-League team play in it as well? Or would that be just too much for his ego? (Especially if the other team won.) I'll have to check in with you boys on the boards here, as to how the tournament plays out. I'll be back in Canada meeting the girlfriend's parents about that time...

Boca and Once are two of the best teams in south america. that would definitely be worth watching, especially when they defeat Seongnam 5-0
