Fantastic back headed own goal by one of the lads.

Lee Dong-guk finally nails a header past the keeper and then Lee Chon-su with a dinky wee free kick (did the same for Ulsan v Anyang to beat us last year the little ^%$^%$^) put Korea in front.
But more importantly what the hell is Ahn Jung-hwan doing with his shorts?! What's with the thigh action he's got going on?!

I noticed Mr Haircare Products yanking them up at one point.... must be getting his thighs sponsored by someone next year. Korea were bloody rubbish....Vietnam were even worse. I missed most of the first half what happened to Cha Du Ri?? Didn't see him play at all. Good to see Lee Chun Soo learned something in Spain.....how to be a diving, moaning, play acting wee shite!

Cha Du-ri was sent off for elbowing a vietnamese player who was annoying the crap out of him.
Happened roughly midway through the first half.
Korea are awful when they get near the goal. They seem to go into slow motion pansy about mode rather than ruthless killer instinct mode.
Should have won 5-0 but a wins a win I guess.

A wee bit of indiscipline creeping into the national team set-up these days... there were a few red cards for the Olympic team recently, and a curfew-breaking nightclub "incident"...
Still, they got the victory they needed I guess which is something.
Lebanon beat the Maldives 5-2 in the other game in the group, so that makes the table:
Korea 10 (+5) Lebanon 9 (+6) Vietnam 3 (-1) Maldives 1 (-10)
The 9th October game in Lebanon should be the one to clinch qualification for Korea... both sides have home games after that, so even if Korea draw it then surely they can't screw up against the Maldives twice in one campaign? (ho hum...)
North Korea beat Thailand 4-1 and are currently top of their group, but only because UAE and Yemen are playing right now and are tied at 0-0.

Partly excused then.

don't worry, totti will dive again for us and get red carded. that's how...
I really do hope North Korea gets one of the spots to WC 06. They're still our brothers...
Yeah even with 10 men down, we should still have beat vietnam 3-1.

excuses, excuses, one of the lads interviewed at the airport when they came back was blaming the players tired physical condition on the K-League. I'm sure having to play up to 26 games so far this year isn't easy, but there was a ten day break from the last game to the Vietnam match. If I took a ten day break from work I reckon I'd be feeling quite rosy. Come to think of it, I'll be getting a two week break which will be quite splendid thankyou very much.
