Good question.
I haven't seen anything on here or any of the other sites I check, as to why those guys weren't playing this week.
HolyJoe you are all knowing when it comes to this kind of stuff. What have you heard?

Where song chong guk, cha du ri and choi tae uk? Song Jong-guk is doing a brief stint of military service right now, so he couldn't play against Kuwait and he can't play in Suwon's A3 Champions Cup campaign. Cha Doo-ri is still suspended for the national team... not too sure when he'll be available again. Choi Tae-wook has just transferred to Japanese side Shimizu S-Pulse. As far as the national team goes, Bonfrere has never picked him.

What is Cha Doo-ri suspended for? Refusing to grow his hair out and look like a pretty boy like the rest of the team? ;D
Seriously why did he get suspended? He has been one of their most solid players recently, hasn't he?

He has been one of their most solid players recently, hasn't he? He elbowed a Vietnamese player in the face during the World Cup qualifier back in September, and I think he got a four match ban for that. If so then he'll miss the Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan games in March. They could definitely do with him back though as he was looking pretty good in the national side.

Is that a KFA ban or a FIFA ban? Thanks for the info HJ. As always excellent work.

Ah yes I remember that. Is that a KFA ban or a FIFA ban? Thanks for the info HJ. As always excellent work. It's a FIFA ban, but the KFA wanted to "educate" him and were considering making him pay the fine. The article said the Germany game was part of his suspension so he might be back in time for the Uzbekistan game at the end of March then (unless the Egypt game counted too... )

jebus......how bout was doo ri's elbow?.....like did he leave the vietnamese guy bleeding or anything? I don't remember too well what happened to the Vietnamese player, but I think Cha swung his elbow into the guy's face after getting a free-kick awarded his way. It seemed totally out of character.. Oh yeah, and Cha played in the Germany game so obviously that wasn't part of his suspension. Guess he misses the next two World Cup qualifiers then.
