i'm off to japan tomorrow on a visa run. any advice that anyone has picked up doing the same thing would be most welcome. cheers.

Whereabouts in Japan are you going for it? Not much point advising the best place for it, if you're going tomorrow, I guess.

osaka. it was wet and my flight home was cancelled 'coz of the typhoon. guinness was good in the english bar over the road from the embassy though

The first one: because it's very likely to be a safe assumption that he'd have not had sufficient time to change his plans. Your second question: well, in your case, given the fact that you asked your first question, suggesting your not being the brightest light on the tree (or perhaps just faulty at the time of writing )then, yes, it probably would take you 2 days to read it.
