Christ on a bike! What possible justification is there for not calling off that game?

Was it at the peace cup final where I bumped into you last year ed?
Now that was a ruddy flood. But we were talking about big bucks involved there.

No. I covered the rest of the tournament, but had to be in Sheffield when the final was on. I think it was the Seongnam v Besiktas game.

As a referee I would have called that off. That surface is classified well beyond "unplayable."

Watched some of this game tonight...farce!! Too many comedy incidents to even note and a couple of crunching tackles that looked like they bloody hurt!! Interesting thing was that I couldn't see a single spectator in any of the three stands shown on TV. So either everyone was directly under the camera or the attendance was 0

yeah I saw it replayed as well.
The amazing thing is that the peace cup final was in worse conditions.
It was fine to start with then the monsoonal rain came and by midway through the second half there was not a single part of the field that was not covered by water.
The players were resorting to flicking the ball into the air, juggling it a couple of times and then punting it down the field as that was the only way to move the ball.

A wee bit of searching around says that this game was played at the Sokcho Civil Stadium at 1:50pm on Tuesday. This is the stadium when it's not turned into Sokcho beach: It was the University section of the 4th Annual National Female Unification Tournament (not so sure about that...). There were also elementary, middle and high school tournaments too. Now that's some pretty useless information

Before they kicked off they showed the two teams two previous results on screen.
Since one of the teams won on penalties in one of their matches I assume it was a knockout tournament.
There were either eight teams to start with, with that being the final or else that was a semi-final or summit with more to come.
riveting stuff.

These were the results of the University section games (from KFA website):
Looks like two groups of three teams with the two winners advancing to the final.
