The latest news is that there is no big sponsor and Anyang City Hall is not going to trump up much cash either so I hear that ACH will come up with some cash in a year or two and a team will be entered in the K2 League sometime around 2006 I suppose.
Probably not a bad thing. The last thing you would want would be to have a team with a bucket load of cash thrown at it get relegated after their first season and then have massive debts and poor crowds hanging around it's neck. It could be a short existence!
Probably best to try and move in the other direction and build things up from a simple beginning.
Also it's not like they have to climb through 3 divisions with massive numbers of teams to get there either.
A team in the 14th largest city in Korea with a recent history of having a team in the top flight should be a decent prospect of getting things together well enough to be in the top division or near enough to it once it has 16 teams.

I suppose that Anyang City Hall won't succumb to the Anyang FC idea unless they change the ugly crest that shows up as your avatar

I think Anyang Citizen are playing their first competitive game this Sunday in some cup competition called SFC Cup against Sanbon FC at Sanbon Middle School, 12:10pm.

The thing is, there's no relegation or promotion in K-league at the moment, so if Anyang starts at K2 then it might be so good... Also, I heard that Changwon City Hall teams playing in K2 this season and they're gonna play in K-league in the 2006 season... but maybe with a different name. They're gonna represent not only Changwon, but also, cities around it like Masan, Jinhae, Kimhae or maybe all of Kyungnam... Also, Jung Mong-Jun, the director of KFA, said that the promotion-relegation between K-league and K2 is gonna in place by 2007, but that was probably just lip service just to get him re-elected. Anyway, hope it happens soon.

He's back in New Zealand now so it would have been one long trip to watch the match Some photos (I think they lost 1-0): xportsnews.com/article/dsp.asp?acode=A05012311009177The article mentions something about them targeting qualifying for the Korean FA Cup and then trying to get into the K2 League.
