Hmm.....Go So Young is oot then What a great signing he turned oot to be. True... I guess binning Ko Jong-soo would have lost tons of female fans. Bringing in Kim Nam-il will counter that. Still, Jo Byung-guk was a decent wee defender - I can only imagine Suwon have lumped in both players to avoid having to pay a transfer fee for Kim.

Son Dae-ho might also be on his way to Chunnam too, though perhaps that's a move separate from the Kim Nam-il deal.

Cha's been busy swapping some more players:
Kwon Jip and Ko Chang-hyun are off to Busan in exchange for Ahn Hyo-yun. Lee Jong-min is off to Ulsan in exchange for Jeon Jae-woon.
So far then I make it Suwon have ditched Ko Jong-soo, Jo Byung-guk, Son Dae-ho, Kwon Jip, Ko Chang-hyun, Lee Jong-min, Marcel, Gabriel Popescu and Seo Jung-won (with Namkung Woong, Jung Yoon-sung and Son Seung-jun off to Gwangju).
They've brought in Song Jong-guk, Kim Nam-il, Ahn Hyo-yun, Jeon Jae-woon and a couple of wee diddy blokes who won't get near the first team in 2005.

Suwon will be a pretty changed side next season then. They had a pretty big squad tho so I suppose its not too bad to lose a few players.
Not really sure about the two latest additions though, i don't know too much about them.
A new keeper might be an idea.

Aye, quite a few players out but then again only really Jo Byung-guk, Marcel and Seo Jung-won featured regularly in 2004. Of the rest of them, Son Dae-ho's six K-League starts with two sub appearances was the highest total for 2004 and he was just there for emergency cover (and he was ahead of Zoran Urumov in the pecking order too for most of the season )

You think Lee Woon Jae has another season in him or will Kim Dae Hwan start a few more matches?
What ya reckon for next years XI? Going to have a hard time fitting everyone in. I forgot they still have Kim Dae-Eui looking for a game as well. Looking a little bit lightweight up front at the minute. A good striker wouldn't go amiss.
Wonder if they would try to bring back Jo Jae Jin or are they still going for the 'big European name'

Lee Woon-jae's going to end up being called away quite a bit on international duty this season with the World Cup qualifiers so I guess KDH will play a few games anyway. If he can get a decent run going then I don't see why he can't keep Lee out the team again (though he had a nightmare in the Seongnam game near the end of the season). The defensive line needs a bit of work I reckon - Lee Byung-kun and Park Kon-ha are getting on a bit and Musa still looks a bit ropey. Cha doesn't seem to fancy Jo Sung-hwan much and Choi Sung-yong would be better off in midfield. Kwak Hee-ju had a reasonably solid season so he's a guaranteed starter though. Midfield is overloaded with folk; Choi Sung-yong, Kim Nam-il, Kim Doo-hyun and Song Chong-guk looks like the way to go. Of course there's then Kim Jin-woo, Jeon Jae-woon, Seo Jung-won (apparently he's signed a new one year contract with Suwon and won't be going to Australia... hmmm) and the sublime Zoran Urumov to fit in there, with Kim Dae-ui looking a bit lost at the minute... as well as having to slot Ahn Hyo-yun in too. Nadson (if he stays) picks himself upfront and I guess he'll be joined by European Bignamedude sometime in the future. That leaves Kim Dong-hyun on the bench again, though I guess Kim Dae-ui and Ahn Hyo-yun can rotate upfront too. Hmmmm... as it stands I'd go: ----------------------- Lee Woon-jae ------------------------ Kwak Hee-ju --- Javier Musa --- Jo Sung-hwan --- Park Kon-ha Song Jong-guk --- Kim Nam-il --- Kim Doo-hyun --- Choi Sung-yong ------------- European Bignamedude --- Nadson -------------- Backup: Kim Dae-hwan Lee Byung-kun Kim Jin-woo Jeon Jae-woon Zoran Urumov Ahn Hyo-yun Kim Dong-hyun Hmmmm, or maybe play Song in defence and move Kwak Hee-ju in a bit ditching Jo Sung-hwan in favour of Kim Dae-ui in his usual role behind the front two... fupp knows. That's why Cha's boss and not me I guess I hope he's had Zoran Urumov in for intensive fitness training during the close season though.

if ur loaded in Mid-field and thin in Defense, why not just go with a 3-5-2 formation? Not enough physical guys or are u guys so obsessed with sticking with that traditional 4-4-2?

I might be tempted by Lee Woon Jae Kwak Hee Ju Musa Lee Byung Kun Zoran Kim Nam Il Choi Song Yong Song Jong Guk Kim Dae Eui New Striker Nadson. Although Kim Doo Hyun might be angling for a place and you could go 3-5-2 with Zoran on the bench and KDE on the right. If they get a 20 goal striker then I can't see how they can lose the league really.

I don't think I'd trust the Suwon defence with only three defenders Just reading the Grandbleu website, and someone's suggested an entire team with possible back-ups for each position: Lee Woon-jae (Kim Dae-hwan) Kwak Hee-ju (Jo Sung-hwan) Park Kon-ha (Kim Young-sun) Javier Musa (Lee Ki-hyung) Choi Sung-yong (Jeon Jae-woon) Kim Doo-hyun (Kim Jin-woo) Kim Nam-il (Lee Byung-kun) Song Jong-guk (Seo Jung-won) Kim Dae-ui (Zoran Urumov) Nadson (Ahn Hyo-yun) New dude (Kim Dong-hyun) That 'reserve' team would do pretty well in the K-League...

3 defenders would be more than enough to cope with yer average K-league striker.
Anyway you would have Kim Nam Il sitting in front of them and Zoran can act as a makeshift left back if required.
Given that Cha is getting rid of defenders I wonder if he's going for a more attacking style or whether he has another signing lined up?
