Bonfrere needs an English teacher.
That's total f**king gibberish.

I'd have thought that his interview would have consisted of one word: PHEW!
I suppose going from Dutch - English - Korean then back to English again probably didn't help that translation (I assume thats the route it took)

He usually speaks English to the Korean media and as it was a Korean journalist for the Korea Times writing about it then I'd hope it was exactly what he said. But in these here parts who the hell knows

Maybe not though.

All the stuff said in English is always a direct quote on my desk. My reporters can handle the language and have recorders for interviews. I have my opinion on what he said and it isn't very forgiving.

One thing that I've heard about Bonfrere (which makes me wonder whether he's the right choice for our team) is that he caters way, WAY too much to the stars and doesn't give the youngsters a chance. In Nigeria, he really used the European contingent and didn't give the local players (who were, in some instances, more talented than their overseas counterparts) a chance.
How many youngsters have been introduced by Bonfrere? This might be the thing that bites us in the buttocks should we advance to WC06...

I think a new coach who isn't from the country and hasn't been foloowing local football until his appointment will always rely on players that have performed in the past. The only way he would ever look at blooding new guys would be if the guys he's picking screw up. unfortunately when that happens it might be too late However in saying that, there aren't really a hell of a lot of K-Leaguers that put their hand up for nat honours. Might be a few deserved bolters out there though.
