Are there really only 9 Koreans in the top 25 scorers?
Hmm....whats the SPL equivalent?

South Korea v North Korea would be nice Yep, and there wouldn't be any dodgy nil all scorelines either. Neither team could afford it. Imagine 120,000 at May Day stadium for the South Koreans. If that doesn't get the blood pumping nothing will.

Aye, that 0-0 "reunification" or "friendship" match in September 2002 was a pretty disappointing spectacle, and it seemed like the South had been told not to score... though maybe that was the start of their piss-poor showings in front of goal

South Korea vs North Korea would be ... well I don't know how it'll be. First of all we have a very very very soft attitude towards North Korea which is a complete mystery to me. Since they did attack us during the World Cup as well. Also donno how the North Koreans will approach it.

Apparently this is the system used in the final round of qualifying for Asia:
And these are the potential seedings (including the teams who aren't yet guaranteed qualification in parenthesis):
(1. Korea Republic) 2. Japan (3. China PR) 4. Saudi Arabia (5. Iran) 6. Bahrain 7. Uzbekistan (8. Lebanon) (9. Kuwait) (10. Jordan) 11. Korea DPR
But it depends on what criteria you use... if you use the FIFA rankings at the time of the 2002 World Cup you get slightly different groups, if you use the seeding criteria they used for the 2nd round of qualifying then you get the seedings above.
Either way though, it looks like Korea and Japan will be kept apart

Are there really only 9 Koreans in the top 25 scorers? Hmm....whats the SPL equivalent? Of course if there were 19 rather than 9 the national team would probably be doing better in front of goal than it has been. But I didn't really find that statistic all that surprising as I'm sure it's the same in many other countries too. In England, I think you'd find even less than 9 Englishmen in the top 25 scorers, probably in Germany too. Do they still play football in Scotland Interestingly, the present German national team forward line is almost totally devoid of German-born players. And one of those, Kevin Kuranyi, born in Brazil, looks pretty shit-hot. This could be a lesson for Korea. I know Hiddink favoured using assimilated or naturalized players. I agree with him although I think it's a decision that Koreans would have to make themselves.

Righty here goes (aye I'm bored right now ) (from http://www.football365.co.uk) Premiership Top 20(the order includes FA Cup and European goals though) 1. Henry 2. Reyes 3. Smith 4. Shearer 5. Kluivert 6. Anelka 7. Johnson 8. Pederson 9. Viduka 10. Drogba 11. Cole 12. Pires 13. Yakubu 14. Defoe 15. Hasselbaink 16. Ljungberg 17. Gerrard 18. van Nistelrooy 19. Berger 20. Bergkamp I make that 6 English in the top 20... SPL Top 20(League Cup and European goals too) 1. McDonald 2. Hartson 3. Boyd 4. O'Connor 5. Camara 6. Riordan 7. Novo 8. Lovell 9. McIntyre 10. Chris Sutton 11. Invincible 12. McBride 13. Hartley 14. Hamilton 15. Prso 16. John Sutton 17. Thompson 18. Wilson 19. O'Donnell 20. Craig 10 Scottish in the top 20 (more than I expected...)... I think too that only five of them are non-Home Nations nationals (Prso, Invincible, Novo, Camara and McDonald... though the latter is eligible for Scotland and will probably be called up to the U21s soon) ------------------------------------ I guess if you included Hauzen Cup and Asian Champions League goals then a few Koreans would shoot higher up that chart - Kim Do-hoon hit about 300 goals against the crappy teams in the ACL, and the likes of Jung Jo-guk and Kim Dae-ui scored quite a few in the Hauzen Cup...

Hmm, Maldives at Sangam with an 8pm kick-off now (as far as I can make out). Also, apparently the crossbar that Ahn Jung-hwan hit during the Lebanon game was 10cm lower than it should have been. Doesn't make any difference though as he'd still probably have hit it even if it was three feet higher

A lot of people don't realise, but Ahn Jung hwan aims for the crossbar and posts (or else somebody in the stands) and is remarkably accurate.
