There was something on the news about Park Ji-sung and Lee Chun-soo picking up injuries in their midweek games... don't know if they will be out of the Lebanon game, though.

cripes even after the WC and all the talk of players going abroad to further their skills there's still only 7 out of 21 players there who are playing overseas... and one of them is in Japan which is worse than the K-League and 2 of them are only playing overseas because the ruddy coach likes em and took them with him Leaving perhaps 4 real movers.

2 of them are only playing overseas because the ruddy coach likes em and took them with him Maybe true, but from what I've seen of them recently, they're both doing more than enough to justify their places. Interesting, though, to see the return to the squad, after several years, of Kim Sang-sik, who was last a national team regular under . . . erm . . . Huh Jung-moo. Now there's a coincidence for you.

Yeah I saw a bit of them the other night and they seemed to be playing good footie.
I expect they are two guys that would have gone to Europe anyway regardless of Hiddinks help.

I think Hiddink is the only one to have faith in them.

Park Ji-sung is out injured.
Bonfrere announced he was calling up Jo Jae-jin, and then apparently a couple of hours later it was announced he couldn't join up as he was injured from the J-League game at the weekend. Oooops.

amazing the number of internationals who 'get injured' in their final club match before international call up isn't it?

Now's the time to see how he does behind the full defense line.

And i'm only saying Kim over Lee Woon Jae right now because Mr. Lee has been looking a bit shaky lately and he's not getting any younger either. Gotta try the big young keeper and sees what he can do.

Gotta try the big young keeper and sees what he can do. I would imagine though that the Lebanon game is a wee bit too important to experiment with the line-up though. Get the points on the board, then go experimenting... try Kim Young-kwang out against Germany in December perhaps.

Korea 10 Lebanon 9 Vietnam 3 Maldives 1
17th November Lebanon v Vietnam Korea v Maldives
Table as it stands right now... looks like a draw tomorrow should be enough as Korea should (!) beat the Maldives at home. Lose to Lebanon and it's bye bye 2006... ouch.

We're crapping our pants at this level. When's the last time that happened? What a disgrace.
