How long before China, Japan and Korea actually start spending as much on player salaries as the big leagues in Europe ?
10 years? 20 years? never?
If the economies keep growing and Korea the league ever actually takes off in Korea then there could be a right old mongrel slapping bidding war going on for all the best talent from south america and other parts.

They got most of the money from their parent company, the big clubs may earn a little money themselves, but only a few. In 2004 CSL falls into seriously economy crisis, clubs' financial were in hard times, Shandong Luneng Taishan's condition maybe not that bad, here is their financial status: Income Bankroll injection by parent company & partners: 50 millions Ticket selling: 8 millions Advertisement: 9 millions others like broadcast rights, football school income, Investments, product selling, bonus from FA etc: 25millions Total: 92 millions Payout Salary: 10 millions Bonus: 8 millions Football School running: 22millions Stadium & tranning Center maintenance: 15 millions Foreign Plyers & Coach purchasing:16 millions Domestic players purchasing: 6 millions others: 15 millions Total: 92 millions

Zheng Zhi to join Shandong (06/01/05)
Shandong Luneng reached an agreement with Shenzhen Jianlibao late on Wednesday night for the transfer of Zheng Zhi.
An official announcement by the Jinan-based club is expected early next week, with the transfer fee oscillating between 10 and 12 million RMB.
With such a high offer Shandong have beaten off competition from newly promoted Shanghai Zhongbang, who were also interested in signing the talented midfielder.
In other transfer news, Shenzhen midfielder Zheng Bin is reportedly close to a return to Wuhan, who are back in the Chinese top flight after a five-year absence.
Zhang Xiaorui wants a move to Shenzhen, but Tianjin Teda's asking price of 2m RMB is considered too high by the CSL champions.
Dalian Shide defender Zhang Yaokun is on his way out of the club after rumours of involvement in a betting scandal.

Zheng Zhi Completes Shandong Move 2005-1-9 19:42:21 CRIENGLISH.com China international defender Zheng Zhi has completed his move from newly-crowned Chinese Super League champion Shenzhen Jianlibao to Shandong Luneng. According to the newspaper, the Beijing Evening News, Zheng Zhi signed for the Jinan-based club with a transfer fee of 9.6 million yuan, about 1.2 million US dollars.
The 24-year-old will leave for the team tomorrow and join the winter training.
Zheng, who was instrumental in China's run to the final of the Asian Cup last year, had been unable to secure a European contract, despite trials at German Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin and English Premiership outfit Southampton.

News Shenhua threaten CFA over Li move (18/01/05)
China captain Li Weifeng has not joined Shenzhen Jianlibao for pre-season training as he awaits a CFA decision on his proposed move to Shanghai Shenhua.
Shenhua have sent a strong protest letter to the CFA after the governing body turned down their request to sign a fifth national team player unless one of their existing Chinese internationals was transferred first. In its letter, the Shanghai club explains that it contacted the federation on 28 December and again on 4 January, stating that according to an official CFA notice on 4 December, just two Shenhua players were called up to national team training. But the CFA considers the whole year, not just the latest list.
Shenhua's letter of protest makes three points. Firstly, they maintain that there should be no limit on the number of national team players each club can have. Doing so would discourage clubs from releasing players for international commitments, which in the long run would damage the healthy development of the Chinese national team. Secondly, Shenhua criticises the CFA for its lack of seriousness and responsibility, and calls for more coherence in the governing body's work. The Shanghai club concludes by expressing its hope that the CFA will take this opportunity to change its working methods and immediately remove the obstacles to Li Weifeng's transfer.
A Shenhua official lamented: "How can the CFA treat Shenhua like this? Last year they took our champion coach Wu Jingui to the national team coaching staff, which led to Shenhua's poor performance in 2004. Then our captain Du Wei suffered a serious injury while training with the Olympics team. Zhang Yuning and Xiao Zhanbo also got injured in national team training and missed most of our league games last season.
"Shenhua continued to support the CFA when the G7 group attacked them, and they still treat us unfairly. No matter what happens, the CFA has to give us a fair answer."
Shenhua coach Valeri Nepomniatchi has also criticised the Chinese FA over its limitation of four Chinese national team players per club.
With two days left until the closure of the transfer market, Shenhua are making one last attempt to sign the player they have been chasing since the end of last season. And the CFA, all too aware of the delicate situation Chinese football finds itself in, does not want another enemy.
