I was tempted to go with the obvious pun title but I'm not that crude ;D erec.hihome.com/page-17.htmlLotte World in Jamsil to have the world's tallest skyscraper... Busan Lotte World 2 to be the 2nd biggest building in the world when finished in 2005... DMC International Business Centre to be the biggest building in the world (up by the Seoul World Cup stadium)... Not forgetting the 60+ floor apartment buildings that are being constructed. Erm...

And here they are telling us their economy is stuffed and they are all poor. In other words, "We're broke and can't afford to buy that 3,000 won plastic car for the kids because the wife just spent 150,000 won getting her hair done".

This is a stupid idea. Why build such ridiculously large buildings? Just so they can get smashed when the North Koreans/Chinese/Terrorists attack? I say spread it around and piss off the agressors!

I imagine the government are funding a lot of these to boost the economy (which is in the gutter) The Japanese did the same a while ago.

Well have fun when the North Korean artillery sends those penis shaped death traps falling down on the people below... not to mention all the people inside. I just have a bad feeling Dr. Evil is not going to go quietly.

To the big dictatorship in the sky??
Although its always amusing to see people talking about NK attacks, Chinese terrorists or whatever.
Feel much less under threat here (except for when US Army types are in the bar) than I do in LA.

Despite all the talk about how they are about to do something at any moment we are 51 years down the track and nothing has happened.
The North are opening up their society more than ever, and the South are plodding away with roads, railway lines and other bits and pieces.
No worries.

Usually we just piss off the aggressors by reminding them that they have Bush as President and actually like watching baseball. And now we'll have bigger buildings than the Americans do too

They must need a hell of a load of beers!! Cricket doen't have dancing girls but thats probably because you have to be gay to enjoy it. Actually most American sports need beer to be enjoyable....except basketball....which even beer can't help!!

We can't rule out North Korea doing anything severely stupid. The only reason why I believe they won't actually attack out of the sake of unifying the continent is because they know they will lose, and lose badly. Kim Jong-il wants to stay in power, and picking a fight isn't the way to do it. He's "opening up" because he needs the cash to keep himself and his closest associates happy. Do you really think this guy is interested in helping the PEOPLE in North Korea our people in the south always seem to talk about? NO. He doesn't give a damn whether they starve in the hundreds and thousands. As long as they're doing just enough to not threaten his power, he's happy. You know if you REALLY want to help the North Koreans (at the expense of South Koreans) you got to get rid of Kim Jong-il.

If you believe the stuff coming from Pyongyang or the well wishers in the Universities who just repeat the stuff the NK Government says, or the South Korean politicians who want to use this "peaceful reunification" concept to boost their chances of being elected, then you really are one gullible person. I almost NEVER trust anyone, not even people I'm very close with because I've been f**ked over many times. So what makes you think these people who kill Koreans in the North in the thousands is worth trusting? Ask yourself that. When a traditionally troublesome group suddenly tries to cozy up, I skeptically welcome them with one hand, and keep a knife behind my back with the other. It's all a deception, it's a trap. If it actually turns out to be what it looks like, that would be one of the biggest surprises in world history.

Well I dunno if i 'trust' the NKs but if the choice is having a few hundred thousand NK soldiers in Seoul or 30,000 Yank ones.... ...it does need some consideration.
