This is a stupid idea. Why build such ridiculously large buildings? Just so they can get smashed when the North Koreans/Chinese/Terrorists attack? I say spread it around and piss off the agressors! Do China and Korea have any kind of significant dislike towards each other?

i think the chinese have some sort of korean inferior sysdrome. In football sense, they are winless against the koreans and second, nobody wants to claim chinese heritage.
in social sense Everybody in china are now what, hong kongian! mandarin, cantonese, and most stupidest thing i have ever heard, taiwanese. What the fck is the country coming into.

Opinions on China are divided though anti-Americanism has made it more favorable. Personally I dislike China like the devil.

i just can't belive a nation that has been publishing distored and mincontrued history all along to gain nationalism and politcal biasim. one example, kyogoryo and native indians. The chinese know that kyogoryo is part of the korean history and all along admitting to the korean govt and still publishing the history text book other wise. Now i have heard that the stupid chinese thinks that native americans in america were chinese. I do and will agree that they did cross the siberian strait but they more mongols, not chinese
tom
p.s can anyone agree or disagree with me

Like I said it depends on who you are. I personally think the Japan thing is getting a little old. That was something that happened over 50 years ago. Conflicts with Japan were usually rare. China was a different story. With China it's never a once off or anything, rather a continuing cycle of pure sh1te. The problem nowadays is that lots of people are starting to see China as an "America alternative." That is a huge mistake.

I agree with redneck that it's a personal thing and depends on the individual. For me, "hate" is way overused to describe very complex relationships and rivalries that can't be described so simply.
Interesting for me is that I've noticed both ethnic Korean and ethnic Japanese citizens of other countries (usually the US) seem to show proportionally more dislike of other East Asian nations/nationalities than do people in those countries themselves. (Don't know how representative that observation is.) I guess the same is probably true of other ethnic minority citizens towards their motherland's rivals.
This is not a criticism by any means, just an observation, and I know in many cases there will undoubtedly be good reasons for those expressions of dislike, some of them perhaps connected with the places they're now living in. But I wonder if this also plays a role in people jumping too often and too hastily to the conclusion that '[NATIONALITY A] hates [NATIONALITY B]'.
Just my thoughts, and not very clear ones at that. Could be a thread killer ;D

It's mostly mainland China. i.e. we have no issues against the Taiwanese. Also we wouldn't have issues with Singaporeans etc. as long as they're not big fans of mainland China. this is new to me. Korea-China not the best neighbours. My ancestor is from China. will i get unfriendly treatment if I visit your country? I have Korea in my heart (because I support the NT).
