Right, I'll use this thread to post all sorts of titbits that I find from other places... you can ignore most of it if you want, but I'm not making any of it up! -------------------------------- First off, there are rumours that Nadson and Marcel both want to move on to a bigger stage than the K-League for next season. Cha (or someone at the club) suggested that though they're under contract, the club probably wouldn't be able to turn down any decent big offers for them if any came in. Still on Suwon, for the past few months Kim Doo-hyun has been continually linked with a move to the J-League and that just might happen during the close season. Kim Nam-il's impending move to the Bluewings might facilitate that. Kim Dong-jin is being chased by Jubilo Iwata, and that might come off before the start of next season. Jung Jo-guk has apparently said that he has no intentions of going to the J-League ("don't make me laugh!" was apparently his comment after being asked if he wanted to go) as he figures the K-League is better. More crappy Korean sports page news to follow...

I can see why Nadson and Marcel might want to move.
Won the title here and Nadson may win the league MVP I saw on the news?
Money from them leaving would facilitate the purchase of Kim Nam-il and maybe some other big Korean name.
Jung Jo-gook would do a damn sight better in the J-League than the K-League and he might actually get more game time there, not to mention more money so I'd sod off if I was him. He;s a good striker but lazy as f**k.
Kim Dong-jin is a bloody good footballer in my opinion. Shame if he left the K-League as I think he will be one of Koreas top players for a log time yet and the J-League will do nothing for his game unless it suddenly picks up in standard in the next few years.

Yep, Nadson was (or will be) awarded the MVP award for this season today - the ceremony is/was at the Seoul Grand Hilton Hotel, so it's a good thing he's not away playing in the FA Cup then...
I think he got 58 of the 65 votes, with Woo Sung-yong getting three and Motta two. One of the newspaper reports said he was the first foreign player to pick up the MVP award in the league's 22 year history.
Pohang's Moon Min-gwi won the "best new player" (?) award too.

One of the newspaper reports said he was the first foreign player to pick up the MVP award in the league's 22 year history. In the news clip I saw it seemed as though they were saying Sasa won it and so did old golden gloves. But I may be completely wrong. They showed Sasa's hand of god goal replay where he punched the ball into the net and ran off in jubilation like all cheating thingys do.

This is the full list of league MVPs... I guess some foreigners should have won the award before now (Piapong in 1985, maybe Sasa Drakulic in 1999 when he scored 23 goals). As it is, I probably wouldn't have picked Nadson as being Suwon's best player this season, yet he won the league's MVP award. Shows what I know then 2004: Nadson (Suwon) 2003: Kim Do-hoon (Seongnam) 2002: Kim Dae-ui (Seongnam) 2001: Shin Tae-yong (Seongnam) 2000: Choi Yong-soo (Anyang) 1999: Ahn Jung-hwan (Busan) 1998: Ko Jong-soo (Suwon) 1997: Kim Ju-sung (Daewoo) 1996: Kim Hyun-suk (Ulsan) 1995: Shin Tae-yong (Ilhwa) 1994: Ko Jung-woon (Ilhwa) 1993: Lee Sang-yoon (Ilhwa) 1992: Hong Myung-bo (Pohang) 1991: Jung Yong-hwan (Daewoo) 1990: Choi Jin-han (Lucky Goldstar) 1989: Noh Soo-jin (Yukong) 1988: Park Kyung-hoon (Posco) 1987: Jung Hae-won (Daewoo) 1986: Lee Hung-sil (Daewoo) 1985: Han Moon-bae (Lucky Goldstar) 1984: Park Chang-sun (Daewoo) 1983: Park Sung-hwa (Hallelujah)

I'm not even sure Nadson was Suwon's best striker last season and I think he'll be found out if he demands a move somewhere.
Where is he going to go?
He's not good enough for England Spain or Italy ... maybe Portugal or France but he'd make more money in the K-LEague!!!
Same goes for Marcel......unless they both want to go to Japan I can't see anyone bothering with them.
I wouldn't recommend anyone go to Jubilo they seem to be in chaos as far as I can make out.

Oh and I hope Kim Nam Il does sign for Suwon.....not cos hes a good player but because he has his little fan club of girls following him around.
Could definitely brighten up the Big Bird next year:)

I've heard that Marcel is definetely moving abroad while Nadson is a 50 / 50.
BTW,
They say that Suwon's club crest is going to change along with its jersey next season in 2005 - Suwon's 10th year anniversary. The jersey is a definite special edition for one year, like FCBarca' 100 year shirt, while the club crest, may change forever, ditching the ones we know of today.
Again, just a bunch of rumors.

It'll be getting a 3rd little star won't it Aye ;D Actually I remember the Bluewings had a fan questionnaire on their official site about a month ago, and one of the questions was something like "what would you like to see on the club crest if we altered it?". I wrote "I want to see 'Suwon' on the badge instead of 'Samsung FC'" - they're the only club without the city name in their crest, though they do have a graphic of the Paldalmun gate from Hwaseong Fortress (part of my lovely avatar ) Oh yeah, quote from Nadson in the Korea Times: "I have waited for a long time to get this award," the Brazilian said through an interpreter. "I¡¯m more pleased that I'm the first foreign player to win this award. I wish I could win it again and again," added the 22-year-old, who is under contract with Suwon until 2007."Well you won't win it again and again if you go off to Europe, ya dafty And on the jersey theme, Cheonbuk have signed a deal with Reebok to supply their new kits. (this image has hangeul in the file name so it might not display... if not, try clicking here or scouting around on the Cheonbuk website).

Speaking of kits, Kappa is out of here.... and the players rejoiced. It was a one year deal and everyone constantly complained about the material of the jerseys. heavy, uncomfortable, baggy, neck too tight, rough.... altough the design is definetly the best in the league. rumor I heard was that Hummel is going to be next up, but not signed yet.

And then the year after Busan will be getting an ajuma down a namdaemun side alley to design and sew the kits.

Lee Song-nam and Jasenko Sabitovic are getting new contracts at Seongnam, however it seems that only one of Dudu and Marcelo will be staying (that's if they both don't get dumped). They were hoping to sign Kim Gun-cheol from Japanese side Shonan Bellmare but I think they can't afford to

But they can afford to bring 7 huge overseas clubs to Korea for a series of games every second year

Feijao to Seongnam (allegedly)
Seongnam are also close to bringing in Kim Do-kyun from some J-League side.
