man, Jungs (Á¤) which is a pretty popular family name, produces no Korean NT player. Sad...Sad... And u forgot Kim Tae Young, they said he was going to play his final NT match Vs. Germany.

And u forgot Kim Tae Young, they said he was going to play his final NT match Vs. Germany. Bonfrere didn't pick him for the squad. Maybe he'll be called in later. It's been pointed out it's a reasonably big squad - only Kim Doo-hyun is under 180cm... though that's possibly down to not having many of the foreign-based players available as Lee Young-pyo, Park Ji-sung, Choi Sung-guk, Lee Chun-soo, Ahn Jung-hwan and Lee Eul-yong are all under 180cm.

Where's some decent bars in Busan?
There's about 10 of us heading down for the Germany game and we need somewhere to get drunk and abuse our former German professional team mate who's coming with us.
He played in what league Cyclops?
Hungarian? Bulgarian?

Germany beat Japan 3-0 tonight. Wonder what they'll do to Korea?

hmmmmm
Any idea on the linup they played with?
I suppose they will field a different team on Sunday since it's only 72 hours minus travel time etc later.

Any idea on the linup they played with? I'm not too sure, but Klose (2) and Ballack scored their goals. This was the Japanese team - don't know how strong that is. Narazaki Kaji, Tanaka, Chano, Santos Inamoto, Fukunishi Fujita, Ogasawara Takahara and Suzuki

I'm curious to see how this particular crop of national team players does. Those us from Ulsan who are heading down to Busan are a little disappointed though. We were hoping to see Choi Sung-guk play, but they went with the tall line up.
This may sound like a dumb question, but is Korea giving up some of it's speed, by not playing some of the smaller faster guys, in order to play with a taller line up that matches up hight wise with the Germans? Or are these taller guys pretty quick too? Seems to me you would want one or two quick little guys out there to run the big Germans ragged, wouldn't you?

Japan were poor and Germany looked very good. Not exactly sure who is the German first XI these days so difficult to tell if it was the BEST team but it certainly looked like a strong one and featured a lot of big names.

Cool, I hope they put up a strong showing v Korea. ie flog them 7-0. Actually it would be good to see the Korean kids do well. And not 'boring well' either, I mean actually show some class.
There's 10 of us going down from Anyang so should be a stinking big Saturday night. Can't wait.

South Korea 3-1 GermanyFantastic result, and a couple of cracking moments too. Lee Dong-guk's goal was a belter (he's got his critics, but that's seven goals in his last six internationals), and superstar goalkeeper Lee Woon-jae pulled off a cracking penalty save from Ballack

It was pretty good to see an Asian team being able to bully the Europeans out of it for long periods - Korea definitely had no objection to getting stuck in. I don't know for certain yet, but it wouldn't surprise me if Lee Woon-jae's got a busted nose after that forearm from Asamoah - and that was before he saved the penalty from Michael Hutchence . . . sorry, Ballack.
The first two goals were very well taken, and the third showed an efficiency and coolness in the build-up that Korean sides rarely have (plus a very unselfish lay-on from Dr. Cha, who must have been tempted to have a crack).

Aye, looked a sore one for Lee Woon-jae.
Funnily enough I thought Asamoah was chopped by a Korean defender in the box about a minute before the handball and Germany would have got a penalty for that.
I wonder if a big, brusing Korean side is going to be Bonfrere's "thing"?

I'd be worried if it is, because it's often a sign of a coach who hasn't got much in the way of other ideas, e.g. Cho Yoon-hwan.
I wasn't convinced by Asamoah's first claim. I thought he tripped over himself, but then I didn't really see the incident very well, to quote a certain coach whose name begins with "Arse".

I just got back from the game. All I can say is WOW. Korea took it to them pretty well. Much better than I expected them to. Cha Do-ri is a machine out on that wing. He had some great break-out runs. A few of those break-outs in the second half could have lead to goals if some of the other guys would have looked to pass it back to him.
As for Lee Woon-jae, it did look like a pretty bad hit. But that extra $3,000 U.S. he won for being the man of the match will make up for it I'm sure.
One other little personal note. I might be bias, and I know I have only been to a couple of the stadiums in Korea. But Busan's staduim sucks. We were on the side with the flag poles that obstructed the view a bit. Not to mention the fact that the seats are a good distance away from the pitch. (not like Ulsan and Seoul where you are right on top of it.) That said, it did keep the sound in quite well. And yes the place was loud. The fans never really let up and made it a great game to be at. ;D
